Always interesting to see random members from the old site pop up. I saw some dude Sean DiRicco post in the general board, he was like a bartender in Scotland or something. I bought a new laptop the other day and typed this url in the search bar and got some completely different site which the same layout. There were only a few threads. Weird. Saw my dude d**k_wolf posting there. He was a fellow Orioles fan, big ups.
I am bumping OC & Apollo Brown- Trophies. First two tracks go haf. A bit inconsistent with the beats, not AB's best effort imo, but certainly no less than 7.5/10. OC spitting nice rhymes as always.

yo buck i dont know s**t about opera but that s**t was bugged out haha they killed it though.
AEOKQ Trophies was my album of the year 2012 and one of my favorites of the 2010's.. Disclaimer and People's Champ I thought were the weak tracks but everything else was mostly fire. I would say at least around 8.5 personally here's the bonus tracks..

You know what ern I agree, Trophies is more like an 8.5. I'm listening right now, it would earn a solid B which is right around that range. Some of the beats are a bit subdued for my taste, but there is great chemistry between OC and AB. Signs is a great example of a more smooth banger. There are some tracks with some heavy percussion like The First 48. It's a really good album.
Love that Stoney Jackson too, right on par with Trophies. Questions is my joint, one of my favorite Madlib beats ever. Planet Asia goes in.

I like the more subdued sound more than you, I was into that drumless s**t too lol Apollo Brown was on fire at this time, some of the beats on trophies came from one of my favorite and most listened to instrumental albums of all time, Clouds. havent spun it in a while though. i used to post his s**t all the time going through the stoney jackson again, the first half of the album blows my socks, but the second half of the album just doesnt have that effect on me until the last track, 2 pistols. i probably rated it too highly, because i really like the tracks that i like. i'd say down to like 6.5 or 7, still a very nice album  |

Damn I have never heard Clouds, didn't know some of the Trophies beats came from there. AB has so much material, there are albums of his I have never heard like the one with Joell Ortiz and Skyzoo. He's a monster. You are probably right about Stoney Jackson, the good songs are amazing but there are a few whatever type cuts. MC'ing is decent, I like Phil da Agony. You are right about Two Pistols, that is an absolute heater, sick samples by Madlib. My revised ratings are Trophies 8.55/10 and Stoney Jackson 7.88/10

Moodz in the house, there's a name from the past. Whatup dude. I was listening to Electric- Life's A Struggle last night. Beautiful record. The opening track Can't Stop is a top 100 favorite track ever. Insight makes some really good music, wish this group made more stuff. Dahga is part of it, not sure the other two MCs. I'm around man, still doing my Horror Podcast since 2012 and YT and of course collecting mad Hip Hop albums. s**t done change lol. I stop by in here a lot actually just almost never post, Charz! |
