the pharoahe track is ill, but I don't know if I have to listen to a brother ali album in 2019 ... do you feel ev's production?

Definitely a fan of the production on this album. Pleasantly surprised all around. This is the first Brother Ali album I've listened to that I know I'm gonna come back to. Will cop this on CD if it drops.

i think this is some of brother ali's best work, and the approach here was totally unexpected. at least for me. when i first heard about the album i figured it was gonna be conscious/spiritual ali over some more soulful production from evidence, and instead got harder beats from evidence and a more aggressive sounding brother ali. a nice surprise for sure.

Im a big brother ali fan, wasn't overly feeling this on first listen but need to give it some more spins

Yeah, this one seems to be him stepping out of his general character a bit so that's probably why it appeals to folks like me who haven't really gravitated towards his older work. That said, there is still some depth here. It isn't meaningless music.
