Album just dropped yesterday. Wanted to see if anyone here heard it or had thoughts.
Ever since I heard rumors of the album I've been pretty hyped. Priest is my favorite MC and him getting an album fully produced by Purpose sounded like a dream pairing.
After a couple listens, this is by far the best Priest album since PWOWR. Him and Purpose just mesh together so well. I feel like they should have worked together for years...the music just feels so organic.
In the past few years, Priest's music hasn't really done it for me. He's mostly gone too far in the ethereal, spoken word direction and has released a ton of albums rapping over instrumentals that I couldn't even describe as beats. On this one, though that isn't the case. He finally got some soulful, banging production and he sounds renewed as a result.
Definitely one of my favorite records this year along with Marci and Blu/Evidence.

Have it ready to play tomorrow... but all the Purpose produced Tragic Allies albums were very good (Paranom & purpose probably my favourite, the Estee Nack 14 forms was great too. Hell he probably produced that 7 G.E.M.S. with Tragedy Khadafi too.
I wish he was rhyming on here too.

KP solidified his elite status in my book a while ago and I’ll give anything he releases a spin. That track posted isn’t blowing me away but look forward to hearing the whole album.

Wasn't really feeling it to be honest. Very downtempo and chill. To be fair I was driving while listening, wasn't in the right mood for that type of music. Purpose and KP do seem to have good chemistry, music sounded spiritual and fit what KP was spitting. But yeah it sort of put me to sleep. Much better to listen to while at home.

Aw, I thought this was really good, coming from a KP fan going back to original Sunz of Man. Love the drums, the interesting beats, also coming from a guy that added my own drums to his rocket to nebula album  . He sounds mystical, the beats sound mystical- very KP. Approved. |
