Think I saw something about this on like allhiphop awhile back. Link not working so I don’t see anything. Does it give more details?

It's just a clip of a track PR posted. I guess he took it down?

That could be super dope but I honestly think Pete Rock doesn't get it anymore to the point I sometimes wonder if those beats he made on the 90's were actually done by him, lol

Pete Rock is a mid a** producer. He gets a pass for the work he did in the 90s and early 2000’s. He’s no GOAT. I liked his work on DZA’s album, but his peers lapped him decades ago.
On the other hand, Common is an elite emcee. He’s a natural talent. Hopefully his dopeness inspires PR to cook up something special.

After be and finding forever this guy has made the same album 6 times in a row. Even the dreamer and believer was kinda wack.

Buck always gotta disagree. Pr is at least still active, what does preemo do or lrg pro or q tip right now??? I’m not disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. I just don’t care for Pete Rock. Like he said, he makes a lot of boring a** beats. I couldn’t even LISTEN to that Smiff & Wessun album and I love Smiff & Wessun. And all that bulls**t about suing Nas over his work on Illmatic. He sounds like a hater. Primo has way more classics under his belt. Pete Rock could make a beat a day till he died and he still wouldn’t touch Primo. I don’t know what LP is doing but Q-Tip put that last Tribe album together and that s**t was great imo. Common sometimes suffers from wack beats. Don’t get it twisted tho. He could freestyle an entire album and it would be iller than 90% of what rappers his age are putting out. For the sake of hip hop, which basically is a dead art, I hope they dialed in for this one. Imma s**t on both of em right in this thread if they put out some wack s**t. When is this even supposed to be happening?

XL’s (from Kreators) verse on Brew Akbar is top tier imo. Love that verse.
Snowgoons definitely dropped some heat in that early run. That Kreators track is a top fav of mine from them. Beat is fire. Haven’t really kept up on them much. I think the most recent release of theirs I checked was Wise Intelligent’s Omnicide (which I dug some tracks on there).

Common is dope, he’s a poet. I ran thru Pete’s albums on Apple Music for beats to rap to and only found one or two I liked. Somehow he knows my stories
