Lets show some love to the Wu's first second gen. the Killarmy! As I listen back to their classic first album I realize these guys were stacked like the Cav's bench is this year. Not to say they don't have some heavy cuts on the next two albums. Of course they should have went on to do more... Plus solo stuff on a way higher caliber level. Either way, they made their mark. I remember my homies Ryan and Jeff putting me on to Wu Tangs whole extended fam around 98-2000 and being blown away when I heard songs like Blood for Blood and Wake Up and downloading them on Napster til I eventually got real copies. RIP to my two friends Ryan and Jeff. I owe them a lot for all they schooled me on. So yeah let's give props to the young wu shooby doo mega fresh ultra dope killa army crew.
Who's your favorite member?
what's your favorite album?

I was just thinking Wake Up is one of the biggest hits in ughh that came outta the whole wu camp. everybody in an ughh concert would go nuts if that came on back in the day and still most would. was that rza or 4th?

I think it would be hard not to pick Killa Sin as the favourite.
But I like all of them even Islord with his off beat flow and non-rhyming verses.
Dom Pachino was pretty good too.
A lot of uniqueness amongst the crew and they compliment each other well.
Beats were always flames too.
Good post.

I actually mail ordered a copy of dirty weaponry and heard it before I ever listened to their first one.
Islord verse on this is tight even though it doesn't rhyme much he hits the beat at the right moments.
"Ay yo straight up and down don't even try and bring that type a s**t around me You liable to get your hold head slapped off your shoulders quick fast, faster than the eye blink so why think, you could live amongst the livest emcees, and G O Dees, that I run with and collaborate my thoughts with to elevate to a higher standard, as I landed, but never stranded as the god PR terrorist apprehended, analog suspects on the set"
Side note: this Holocaust verse = ridiculous

Killarmy are probably my favourite Wu fam.
Killa Sin was the illest MC in the group, on that first album there was only really Sin that established himself and had a flow. 9th Prince was offbeat most of that first album imo. Still had some dope verses though.
The third album is where 9th Prince finds his lane I think. The flow is there and he sounds dope on every track. Dom Pachino was at his peak on that third album too imo. His verse on Monster is the s**t!!
4th Disciple got to be given props for putting these albums together though. His beats in 96-98 were insane!!
Peace!

Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars is a borderline classic. 4th Disciple created quite the soundscape on that. Full Moon is my s**t. Dirty Weaponry was almost as good. Two amazing back-to-back albums. Fear, Love & War was kinda weak. They had an album in 2020 called Full Metal Jackets. I remember listening and thinking it was decent.

I was unfamiliar with Wu affiliated music just a few months ago. However in my quest to find an old rap song (separate thread) led me to a lot of gems from Wu affiliates. 5 Stages of Consciousness is one of them.

I brought all the WU affiliate s**t when it dropped
WU syndicate, LA tha Darkman, Suns of Man etc.
I first heard Killarmy down the phone WU Renegades 12, a d j I knew used to get promo white label s**t he would call me up and play snippets I would buy the s**t I liked through the post, upon hearing WU Renegades I was hooked, Camo Ninjas dropped and was cool but through a really good system WU Renegades was just so good I played the s**t out of it
great crew

Silent Weapons and Dirty Weaponry are two of the best back to back albums by a new group in hip hop history imo.
Killa Sin was cold as f**k on both albums…but it was really 4th Disciples soundscape that captured my ear. I remember thinking he had that sorta RZA style but much more dense and hypnotic.
Full Moon, Blood for Blood…those tracks are insane.
Might run up both albums today. Good thread.

I would say my favorite of their 4 albums is the first one. Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars stands as an underground classic. In my opinion Killa Sin is hands down the best spitter in the crew. At the moment, 9th Prince is currently in the process of replacing 4th Disciple as the resident producer and replacing Dom Pachino with original Killarmy member Ho2fa aka Hoffa. The last album Full Metal Jackets and this new single are evidence of that. Wu fans...also check out this mixtape and single: darkagesmusic.bandcamp.com/merch/gladiators-limited-edition-7-vinyl-bundle-3

I like this live Killarmy clip.
How much fun would it be to wear all those baggy army gear and backpacks and rock on stage.
