Seems like a "Do you know who I am?" situation. Killer Mike didn't like being told anything by security guy because, you know, he's like the Taylor Swift of the hip hop community. He's friends with Bernie Sanders and he just won 3 Grammys, like HELLO security dork.
But security guy had some other security friends with handcuffs. Whether or not there was a physical confrontation is still up in the air. TMZ video doesn't show an altercation.
Not being a d**k but 3 grammys for what? Rtj music? Where is the ginger???
El-P got shtted on for real lol.
He was responsible for Mike making the best music of his entire career for YEARS, made him relevant again and Mike’s standing there by himself holding all these awards talking bout “Look at ME! I DID IT!”
I have to admit, I watch the Grammys from start to finish every year. It's the only award show I can watch nowadays. This year was an A+. Trevor Noah did a good job, gained a little more respect for him.
There were lots of great performances but the best of the night was Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs. Billy Joel was so awesome - ended up buying tickets for the wife and I to see his Vegas show with Sting. The legend Joni Mitchell was great to see as well.
And I'm not in the camp of "get Taylor Swift off my screen". She's cool imo.
But for f**ks sake...the reason people say hip hop sucks is because f**kboys like Travis Scott are called "hip hop" by the MSM. His performance goes down in history as the worst ever. Rosanne Barr and Carl Lewis did a better job with the star spangled banner than TScott did at the Grammys. I couldn't believe my ears and eyes. Compare TScott's performance to Kendrick's Grammy performance in 2016 and tell me who is carrying hip hop to the next generation.
Hold on I didn’t check the nominees. I didn’t check Michael because almost nobody was feeling it on here and haven’t gotten around to it. I’m gonna play it soon. But better than nas KDIII?

Who made who more famous, EL-P or Killer Mike because neither were especially popular before RTJ and now... they getting all kinds of features / props / lime light etc.

Both were at the tail end of their careers. RTJ was the best thing to ever happen to them.
Other than Killer Mikes verse on Whole World with Outkast, nobody was checking for him. And only NYC backpackers really gave af about EL-P. His bleep bloop beats and explosion drums were not everyone’s jam.
Put that sht together tho and it’s off the charts dope.
So yeah. Who made who famous? I don’t think Killer Mike gets a Grammy without RTJ tho. That Michael album is mid to weak. RTJ put him on the radar, along with his non stop campaign to get awarded.

Michael was a legitimately great album. I skimmed through it when it first dropped and it really didn't grab my attention to come back but when I went back a couple months later and really listened, it was so good I immediately ordered a CD. Definitely one of the most well put together albums that dropped last year. Nas' KD3 was also really good but I think Michael was more cohesively structured.
I found it great when I took the time to listen thoroughly. And I don't fw church.. Definitely better than most s**t that gets the grammy nod in the rap category.
putting my 2nd grade picture on my next album cover with a tiny slanted "hand drawn" kings crown and/or horny halo on my head and hoping for the best...
nah im clowning. congrats 2 the man. my bro kept telling me check the joint w 3000
on another pop rap note, i heard a song off vultures this weekend cuz my young cuz was hyping it up. maybe the wackest song i've ever heard lol. the ozzy sample pfft. beavis and butthead do not approve of this foolery

Like when did it become cool to sht on Run The Jewels?
Probably around the 3rd album, right?
When the first one dropped and NOBODY heard it yet and there wasn’t a single review about it and they released it for free outta nowhere you were calling it wack?
No. You weren’t. Cuz it was what they call an instant classic. The second album was just as dope and they again released it for free but this time on Christmas Eve. Those that slept jumped up and analyzed the sht out of the 2nd album giving off the chart praise and reviews poured in by the hip music nerds.
The 3rd album they drop is also incredible upon release but you start to hear the whispers of “Ok. That’s enough. Break it up now.” No longer able to be classified as underground because of tremendous exposure, they begin to believe it themselves and put out part 4. A bad album.
Can’t call it wack with that lead off Primo song. But the momentum was too much to keep rolling. What a dope run for hip hop.
But Mike winning a Grammy dolo is not how this should end.
