PE is one of my favorite groups of all time. To me they’re up there with GOATED groups like NWA, Wu, Tribe, etc and don’t get mentioned much. That’s mad wack.
Hank and Keith Shocklee showed producers like Dr. Dre how to sample. Shout out to Chuck, Flav, Terminator X and the S1’s.

I've never listened to one of their albums *hangs head in shame*
But I know of their greatness.
I will remedy this.

Flavor Flav’s the greatest hype man of all time.
Check out the video I posted of PE live at the Apollo.
He rocked that s**t almost as hard as Chuck D.

Flavor Flav’s the greatest hype man of all time. That’s a GOAT opinion that would be really hard to argue against. PE are foundational artists to this genre and Flav is hands down one of a kind. IMO, Apocalypse 91 was their overall best release. I’d argue that’s a Top 25 hip hop album of all time. Went through 2 cassettes of that album back in the day. Terminator X’s album was a personal fav too.

Yes, Yes! Definitely one of my favorite groups, all time. Their first three albums have been in regular rotation since they came out and the next two are usually sprinkled in a bit followed by the rest of the stuff that I'm not as familiar with.

Apocalypse 91 is so ill. Crazy that it’s the first album not entirely produced by the Bomb Squad. It’s got my favorite PE song of all time on it tho:
CONFUSION!!!
For me, the way they set it off is up there with “I came in the door/ I said it before”.
Bass in your face, not an eight track Gettin' it good to the wood So the people give you some of that reactin' to the facts That I kick and it stick and it stay around Pointin' to the joint, put the Buddha down

There’s a 17 track greatest hits album called Fight The Power.
It’s like a highlight reel and it ain’t a bad place to start if you just getting into PE and want all the bangers.
It’s an all black cover with a raised fist on it.
