This record is a banger through and through. "Uncommon Valor" wherein R.A the Rugged Man nails it! Then "Outlive the War" has a solid Sean Price feature which is so kino. Luv dis record man n "Heavy Metal Kings" is supreme horrorcore!

After I heard this album for the first time I was like, "holy god." Stoupe created a soundscape that hip hop had never heard before. The raps were violent and metaphysical at the same time. Unbelievable. They never came close to recreating that magic again unfortunately.

Is there any verses or songs anyone skips on this thing?

Unbelievable. They never came close to recreating that magic again unfortunately. For me it was when I heard "Speech Cobras" that it clicked. A "Pi" sample as a Darren Aronofsky fan was sooooo Kino. Plus the Black Moon Sample is immaculate. Vinnie Paz, Mr. Lif, and Jus Allah absolutely rekt that song. It's soooo gud.

I loved Servants In Heaven.
That first song with the Jay-Z scratches is the sht. Lift up ya whole hood like ya got oil under it. One of Jays coldest bars of all time. Triple entendre.
Those were some crazy a** real life Viet Nam pics for the cover and inside of Violent By Design tho. The front’s a terrified US soldier screaming for a medic, the inside’s an infamous pic of an actual execution.

It's impossible to chooose. Ikon the Verbal Hologram was ridiculous at this point in his journey.
Also the movie Pi did my head in, the guy takes a drill to his own head right, crazy.

Besides a friend lending me their copy of Aesop Rock's Bazooka Tooth, another friend's recommendation of Jedi Mind Tricks is what got me digging into underground rap back in my high school days. Here's one of my favourites and it's just a mixtape song.
