Atmosphere is definitely about a lot of self deprecating, everyday average guy stuff that I don't completely relate to but that doesn't matter because I also don't use dead pig's heads for Christmas tree ornaments either and that's not stopping me from listening to Ganksta NIP. Slug clearly has love for hiphop and the whole life and art of it so along with some talent at making good music, should be enough earn some respect.
I'm usually partial to earlier works and I especially don't think they changed much so that's why I don't pay attention to them anymore because I feel like I got everything they have to offer pretty early on. I could live with just their first album or a few of the EPs and be good. That "Modern Man's Hustle" track has come up in my playlist a lot recently though and pretty much sums up what they are about at their best as posted earlier in this thread.

Somebody mentioned Aesop Rock and how he’s basically in the same lane as these dudes.
I don’t hear it. Aesop rock smokes almost every verse. The nerdy white dad voice quickly fades away right around the second song if you play one of his albums. You get lost.
It’s because of his pen and vocabulary. I’ll be honest, the first time I listened to Aesop was Impossible Kid. That was some of the best story telling I’ve ever heard by a rapper and I think as time goes by will be considered his best effort.
What’s Atmosphere’s best album?

Best album IMO is Lucy Ford Followed by Outcast! (their first) Slug and Aesop Rock have collaborated often. For example Felt (Slug & Murs) - Felt 3: A Tribute To Rosie Perez is produced entirely by Aesop Rock.

Buck - I would check out Southsiders. That's a more modern album that is absolute fire. But they built their fanbase on live shows, not albums, imo.

One of the goat groups.
Lucy ford also is the one for me.
HM you can’t imagine how much fun we’re having.
Loved when life gives you lemons.. god loves ugly.
Favourite tracks are probably
Always coming back home to you
Little man
Guarantees
Hard to pick after that. So many classic joints. Saw atmosphere in Melbourne probably over ten years ago now. Murs supported. Good times. Off topic but i actually think brother Ali has better albums, although atmosphere have more classic tracks
