This dropped today and was interested to know what ughh would think about it. It's a very different kind of Danny Brown album. Outside of a small few tracks, this is a very somber and introspective DB. There's no tracks about doing molly and f**kin hoes doing handstands. This is DB at 40, realizing heavy drug use is catching up. Tracks about failed relationships. Tracks about losing loves ones and being worried about his own mortality. If you typically don't listen to DB because of the voice or the tracks where he's yelling over the whole thing, I'd say check this out because it's definitely nothing like that. Imo this is his best album since XXX. Gonna give it some time and a few more spins but it actually has the potential to be even better than his best album. Wasn't sure what to expect based off the 2 singles I heard before it dropped but I can say after hearing the whole album, it blew my expectations out of the water. I've always f**ked with DB's music but have always thought he struggled to make a balanced album. As much as I loved XXX, even that had some duds on it. I really can't think of a single track on this that I would skip. It's Danny saying "I'm in my 40s, f**k all this partying s**t." and it works supremely well. If this is the direction his music is gonna be going in, I can't wait for more. Easily AOTY for me and unless some real classic s**t drops between now and 12/31, it's gonna be really hard to top.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the appraisal. I've liked all Danny's stuff even the more out there like say Scaring the Hoes and I liked Atrocity Exhibition too. He's a guy that can have more than one totally different vocal approaches. I will check this I can relate to being 40 and some of the stuff I think and worry about.
