Man I'm only familiar with Can Ox & OC and both albums are f**kin great 👆👆👆BTW Can Ox has a new single out, but I hate that Vast is releasing music under a common name and always glorifies just himself, "me, me, me" < f**k that s**t, where is Vordul, is he still a part of Can Ox? Also on that singel is only Vast & Planet Asia🙄🙄🙄

If I grabbed that stack of CDs, Cali Agents would be the one I play first.

Respectfully, 13 is too many, lol. I’d recommend paring it down some next time. I’m also in the same boat as Nightrider. I’ve heard the Can Ox, OC and Cali Agents.
I think Bill Cosmiq is a great producer pairing for Can Ox. The deluxe edition has that Silverhawks joint which is actually my favorite track. The way the hi hat is mixed is makes the beat for me personally.
That OC album is great. Was pleasantly surprised by it after pretty s**tty Bon Appetit.
Cali Agents is meh. Personally, I’m not a big Planet Asia fan.

I hear ya. Overload. ah well just take it as a mini dump type post. No hard feelings over here.
Agree with you on the Ox I enjoyed Ronin even though Vast has some cringe lines, the beats were nice and suitable. Vast shouldn't be marketing his s**t as Can Ox without Vordul.

Flygod- 9.02/10
Album opens up really strong with Dunks, grimy beat and Conway bodies it at the end. Hall is one of my favorite Roc Marcy beats ever. Omar's Coming is a heater, and the Apollo Brown beat on Mr. T is classic. Alchemist came through with some heat on Dudley Boyz. The middle of the album lags a little bit imo, but there aren't any truly bad songs on this album. Westside Gunn is neither the best nor worst rapper ever, he raps about crime a lot and doesn't come off as fake. He has a few witty lines. There are enough other MCs to add variety. Very good album.
How The West Was One- 9.19/10
I just spun this real quick to refresh my memory. I completely forgot that Panik from the Molemen produced a few songs on this, he really blessed them with some heat. The beats on this album are pretty consistent on the whole. M-Boogie and Madlib did their thing. Real Talk is the one beat that is somewhat wack, but even then it has an interesting bounce to it. Planet Asia and Rasco have such good chemistry, different styles that complement each other perfectly. On another note, I am going to see Cali Agents and Bronze Nazareth later this month with El da Sensei and Mr. Len. I'll see if I can post the flyer in this thread.
Blade of the Ronin- 7.5/10?
Can't really remember this album that well, but I do recall liking it. It was nothing like Cold Vein, what album is honestly. I just listened to the Black Milk track [Blade: The Art of Ox] with Artifacts and U-God. Cool track, even if I have heard the sample before. I'll see if I can listen to the rest of album later and come back with an updated rating.
I've never heard any of the other albums. What would you say are the two best ones that I should listen to?

That’s a nice lineup! Nice to see Cali Agents performing together. And yeah, Rasco is the s**t, you could understand why PA went further but most of his material, while credible, is the same thing over and over and over again. Time Waits For No Man is still the standout gem out of all their albums to this day imo.

These rate threads you make gotta go, it’s always the worst albums ^^ Sometimes I wonder if you are actually a bit simple man. And that's ok I have a disabled nephew... I love him all the same. This is the first rate thread I've ever made. And rest assured I probably won't bother doing it again because posting the images was a pain in the a** and well, it's the law of diminishing returns right. Why don't you listen a bit more and contribute better. It's all love though.

though Vast has some cringe lines, the beats were nice and suitable. Vast shouldn't be marketing his s**t as Can Ox without Vordul. Yeah, Vast is one of those guys that steadily became less engaging as an emcee. Like some of his lines on Cold Vein are extremely witty. Then idk his s**t became more and more watered down with pop culture comic book type of punchlines and not really very engaging ones at that. He can still pick dope beats and I guess is a serviceable emcee at times. He still surrounds himself with some dope emcees so has good featured artists. Vordul stayed more consistent with his abstractions and freestyle type flow to me. Definitely is strange for Vast to market that way. Hopefully since he’s taking that route he’s kicking something down to Vordul.

"milkyish way by her pelvic zone" (eww) There are way more, they are kind of funny I guess.

I listened to that Sadistik and it was interesting. too emo for my tastes and also had a couple of trap sounding beats haha. Track 3 was the stand out for me. i got a couple other sadistik releases afterwards (shown in dump thread). the stuff with kno sounding pretty good but kno is always dope

Instead of starting a new thread, thought I would give a quick recap of the show I attended in this thread.
First of all, I got to meet Bronze and chop it up with him at the bar for like 20-30 minutes. That was definitely a highlight considering he is one of my favorite artists ever. Got a pic with him, maybe I'll post it later. Talked about Detroit hip hop, he said he wished Eminem would come back and invest in local artists. I asked him about his influences and he said of course Premier and RZA, but then gave props to the Geto Boys, which I would have not guessed. He didn't have the greatest things to say about Dreddy Kruger or Babygrande, typical s**t about getting screwed out of some money. He also called Kanye West a weirdo lol. He said him and Willie have some s**t stored in the vaults, I am hoping for a Living Daylights 2. His set was dope as f**k too, I don't think he gets enough credit as a dope MC. He had some cat named Kurt Solid on stage with him, they have a new album dropping. I went ahead and bought the Bundle Raps CD, sounds pretty good through a couple spins.
El da Sensei absolutely killed it. His voice sounds exactly as it does on records. Great stage presence and mic control. Played lots of classic Artifacts songs, of course paid homage to Tame One. He played Crowd Pleasa, which is one of my favorite Illmind beats. Got to meet him later at the merch table and thanked him for playing that song. He said he could hear me shouting it out during the set lol. Mr. Len was his DJ, I also got to talk to him about Funcrusher Plus. I told him they were the originators of abstract hip hop, and he actually gave credit to Ultramagnetic MCs.
Fashawn had a nice set. I am not all that familiar with his music except for Boy Meets World. He has some nice lyrics.
Cali Agents killed it, played lots of songs from the first album. It was the 23 year anniversary of How the West Was One. Apparently it was Rasco's first time on stage in 8 years. They still have good chemistry, although Planet Asia clearly carried the show. He was hella amped.
Overall dope as f**k show, one of the better ones I have attended. Even the sound was on point. I always appreciate being able to interact with the artists. Oh I also met Exile, he was chilling on the patio. Gave him his props for Below the Heavens. He told me the label f**ked them on that (big surprise).
