Electronic/Dance artist, Kelela, drops her 2nd album six long years after her last one Take Me Apart(2017). It's not a Hip Hop album but I thought it be cool if I can showcase it to the Hip Hop heads. It's refreshing to see Black artists not dealing in the usual Hip Hop and R&B. There are plenty artists of African descent who are in various genres, they just don't get the proper recognition.
Aside from the overall Electronic and Ambient music that she's known for, there is a bunch of variety. Influences ranging from Dancehall, Vaporwave, Jheri Curl Soul, Alternative R&B, Industrial, and even a little Hip Hop sprinkled in for good measure. Themes pertaining to love, forgiveness, heartbreak, separation, sensuality, and vitality.
