Remember this being loved across the board the yr it came out. People said Stik Figa was hard to get used to but he's pretty str8 forward and def skilled, not sure what people were talking about. L'orange is such a good beat maker. He needs to be more active or do more instros but hes shown and proved these last 10 yrs.
These 2 songs were my favorite. Especially Smoke Rings
No idea both had videos.
Thoughts???

Top 25 album ever for me. Can't say enough good things about it. L'Orange dug up some absolutely amazing records and crafted a beautiful soundscape. I know he tends to go for that film noir/20's-30s type of music, and it really shined on this album. I have yet to hear him capture that same magic on subsequent albums he has done. Dark, moody, banging. Blind Tiger is a perfect example, uptempo with some eerie voices in the background, a really deep piano/bass line going on, dusty as f**k. Stik Figa complements the music perfectly. I like how he doesn't say things directly all the time and you have to dig into the lyrics. "Nothing to regret, well, maybe that death smell." You can interpret that line so many ways, and that is just an example. I like rappers that come with various images and emotions that evoke different reactions.
Basically a 10/10 album for me. I was super high on it when it dropped and I continue to be until this day. Modern day classic.

I revisit this album every couple years at this point.. Monochrome is the best track then Smoke Rings, those 2 got the most play
One of my dumps had a bunch of Stik Figa releases I was going through at that time but nothing close to this album..Conductor Williams is no L'Orange
Besides this, he had that Seasons track with Apollo Brown which is one of his best tracks. They could of did an album together.
