The greatest living rapper just dropped a new album YOD Wave. Every single track is banging. The last several albums hes dropped have all been great and this is somehow even better. 🔥🔥🔥 Hes been dropping projects so fast his last 3 albums Time, Space Bar and Wolf 2 are all still on pre order.

love the 90s letter job on the art! It's a nod to Tom Waits and The Clash.

The first 2 joints "fela kruti" and "scooby snacks" are my favorites. I like how the tape closes as well.

I've been comparing him to doom all along. The nas comparisons are boring.

Imma say it again. This is the new MF Doom. I think "I know you" since the ughh.com days so I have certain type of sympathy for you, hence I'll give you an advice: stop using drugs. I'm not going to say one is better than other or anything like that. It's just that neither their music nor personas can be compared really.

It’s kinda hard to explain. It’s less about how they sound and more about what the creative process is like for them.
You can’t easily categorize people like Droog and MF DOOM.
It’s almost like they make the music for themselves, decide to share it and people just happen to dig it.
I never “knew you” on the old board tho. What I DO know is you should probably save the “don’t do drugs” talk for your kids.

Except doom was really elusive and everyone loved him and droog isn't elusive at all (and he makes reference on the last project he wants more ears to hear his work) and not a lot of people like him. As much as I don't think he sounded like nas, that s**t still tanked his career immediately. If he was never compared droog would be as high profile as action bronson, tv shows and everything. Elusive by circumstance.

I was listening to YOD Wave a couple days ago at work and someone who has no idea who he was innocently asked me "hey is that Nas?"

We need the background with rap as well as brain capacity of said coworker. Whether he does or doesn't he let the internet run wild with that rumor when a guy who isn't a p***y woulda stopped it right ther. But it goes back to my original point that this guy definitely didn't wanna be religated to the underground like he is. I'm telling u I think he thought and wanted the moon. Maybe even bigger than Bronson.

He's hooked himself up with mach I think purely to get heard by jay z. He wants more important ears to hear his s**t not fans.

I really don't how hip hop my co worker is tbh. He did recognize the Blackstar song Repriations before the beat dropped. So he knows something. I would assume he likes mostly mainstream though since hes a young guy. Him even knowing the Blackstar song did make me think though.

Droog is easily one of the nicest rapper alive today. As far as raw natural rapping abilities go, he’s only behind living legends that still flow mean like Nas and Raekwon. “You can’t compare YOD to MF DOOM.”
Ok. You can tho.

Droog is comfortable in his own lane now regardless.
He been nice. AND he’s consistent like a muhfukka.
To me he’s the embodiment of underground hip hop in 2022.
NOBODY is putting out this kinda weird music at this rate like YOD.
I prolly posted it before buttfukit. It’s incredible.
