We're nearly halfway through the year. Let's do a throwback to the good ol' days of ughh and make a list.

I wasn't a fan of some of the vocal guests on the flylo. But I got to listen to it more.

ha, really? i definitely wouldn't say it's his best album but it's somewhere in the middle. could some stuff have been cut? could it have flowed better? sure, but there's still a lot of great stuff on there imo, great showcase of what flying lotus is capable of. i'm also a fan of pretty much every guest he got on there lol.

I'm definitely glad it had more over less after so many years out of the spotlight.
Would have been the worst if it was only like 12 songs.

Liked that Sadistik, Sunspot and A+ no one listened to, the Good People, Epic Beardmen, Fifthgod, Myka 9 - Tonight's Program... then there's like 20 albums that have been piling up. I had a giant list last year at this time, I'm way behind right now.

so far, my favorites of 2019 are clever 1 & giallo point's "kiss da converse" and "hiding places" by billy woods & kenny segal - both are prime examples of 1 emcee/1 producer collabos that really work.
lots of mediocre and disappointing stuff has been released this year, but there's some more I really like such as "soldier" by a.m. breakups, crimeapple & dj skizz' "wet dirt", blockhead's "free sweatpants", horror city's "supa villain" (produced by parental), yod's "it wasn't even close", evilldewer's "slim rituals" as well as kwest's "s.p.i.t.r" ep. the opioid era releases and rj payne's "leatherface" are solid, too ... and I liked the g.o.d. pt.3 album "quarantine" produced by twiz the beat pro although I've never been a big fan of the infamous mobb dudes...

Never heard about that Sunspot/A+, thanks! Checked it out, it was alright. I usually like Sunspot a lot but wasnβt really feeling the album much. Had some good spots and I guess I was expecting more A+ rapping and not just producing.
Iβm mostly out the loop but I like the Billy Woods/Kenny Segal album. Iβve mostly been listening to Self Jupiter - Sexy Beast and the upcoming Blu/Fat Jack. Heard on Divine Forces Radio last night, a really dope track about Emmit Till. No idea who the MC was but it was a world premiere broadcast of the track and they mentioned something about getting it from a DJ Sound or something like that. Canβt find any other info about it.

just remembered the album i was forgetting thanks to nightrider's thread on here.
Zilla Rocca - '96 Mentality
been listening to that project a lot, would definitely be someone on my list. to me it's probably better than future former rapper overall but that album had a few tracks that are better than anything on 96 mentality.

it's yellow gold 3, but no CDQ yet. just the live performance. gotta assume the official release will be sometime soon but until then i've got a ripped version with the tracks seperated if you want it.
