That first one is a classic. I don't think these movies celebrate drug use either, its more about the pain it causes and the struggle to break free from it. This new one even more so about getting clean and staying clean.
IM hyped will be at the Alamo Drafthouse on day 1

Damn. Pretty dope trailer. I'm going to have to revisit the first one before this one comes out. I haven't seen that for damn near 20 years. Good s**t. Didn't even know they were making this.

the list of upcoming movies in the next few weeks is terrible. hopefully 2017 is better than 2016 was.
only saw trainspotting once, and wasn't feeling it. have to revisit it.

I have watched Where The Buffalo Roam, very strange movie, totally Gonzo! Bill Murray is right at the top of my list of favorite actors, but I like Depp in Fear and Loathing better.
I saw that movie (Fear&Loathing) when I was 16 and I said to myself "I'm going to do that" and I basically did. Road that train off the rails. Still dabble in psychedelics and bud, but I slowed way down on the drinking and all the other nonsense. Never tried heroin or liked any pills thank God cause that's s**ts an epidemic where me and Clock are at.
I remember watching Rum Diaries once when it first came out and not hating, but not really liking it either.
If you want to check out some bugged out movies like those, but even a little weirder check out - Blue Velvet, Naked Lunch, or Pink Flamingos. I think you'll really dig Pink Flamingos just based off the brief description google/wiki will give you.

some do but trainspotting or spun or requiem for a dream do not at all. but i could watch fear and loathing and see nothing wrong there, even the acid bath tub scene. I feel like they should show Requiem to teenagers instead of having a DARE class
