my bad 88, not used to checking the other boards on here lol the only ongoing comics from this year that i've been keeping up with really are house of x/powers of x, and immortal hulk. both of those books were refreshing to me since they kind of redefined everything i knew about all these characters while also including some deep cut references to their past, kinda similar to what morrison did with batman but to a lesser extent. great art too. also, immortal hulk reads like a straight up horror book at times which i love. the tone is completely different from any other hulk runs i've read, it's dope. outside of that i've kinda just been going through the backlog. this was my only IST order in the last 2 months haven't read silver surfer black yet, didn't even realize it was the treasury version when i bought it so i was surprised that it was oversized. i think its about as big as the x-men grand design books. how is it though? a couple people recommended it and i like silver surfer but i don't really know much about this particular run other than the art being great.

I haven't read SSBlack yet,but it does have a great look to it.
What have you been reading in your backlog?
Best thing I read last year for the first time was From Hell. The word masterpiece gets used a lot, but that really is a genuine masterpiece. Haven't read Swamp thing yet, but FH is my fav Moore, otherwise. It's up there as one of the best things I've ever read in comics.
Just re-read Black Hole. I liked it a lot more this second reading. My friends and I have been getting into Lynch over the past few months - he was a real blindspot for us, before - and that helped me appreciate Burns' style a lot more. Although I loved his book, Last Look, from the start, I didn't enjoy Black Hole as much the first time. I think my expectations ruined it for me. Anyway, loved it on the second try, and am probably going to buy it, next time I'm at the comic store.
Also been reading a lot of Creepy and Eerie archives. They're so, so good. Highly recommended, if you haven't checked them out before. A lot of the best artists worked for that publishing company, and the editor, Archie Goodwin, really knew how to get the best out of people.
In terms of new stuff, I've been meaning to get to Immortal Hulk, but keep putting it off, because I was reading Bone and Sandman, and didn't want to spin too many plates all at once. Maybe now's the time to pull the trigger, since there are five or six trades out by now.
I recently read the first trade of Ice Cream Man, and I'd recommend checking it out. It's basically a crime/horror series that revolves around this Ice Cream Man that's some sort of trickster demon type. The first trade is all vignettes, rather than one linear story. The fourth trade just came out.
