There's no justification for me enjoying this as much as I do. By almost any technical measure the guy is a f**king awful rapper, and I think I'm right in saying this was the least successful No Limit album of 1998, when they just saturated the market. But it's raw the whole way through - nothing flashy, no balling talk, no re-using 90s R&B tunes for a "dead homies" song. And at 16 tracks it's pretty short for an NL album. I like the whole thing.

^ props on 'tis what tis', too many people sleeping on googie.
man, i don't even know what i'm going to listen to now that my year end list is done on RYM. it feels like i've been trapped for the last two weeks lol. probably going to go back and revisit RA scion's discography since that recent project he did with theory hazit reminded me how good of a writer/lyricist he is.

Hell ya Clock^ 311 is quality sounding music man. Some of their stuff is the perfect blend of rhythm and minimal lyrics for me.

Found this for £1 in a charity shop. That whole Heatmakerz sound feels really dated now, but I guess this is a good example of what it achieved when done well.

I had no idea they'd remade Bout It Bout It with Master P. That's awesome, such a classic, instantly recognizable beat.

Revisiting this gem from few years back...
Top 5 EP since it dropped in 2011. Hoard 90 and Jet Luggage are godly. Hope they eventually drop another project.

after a serious session of hip-hop from 2016 last night, i'm bumping this a nice laid back album for the morning. These late Night Tales albums are great compilations for anyone looking to explore new music. Highly recommend the Bonobo one

I slept on this for years and picked it up for a few quid a couple of months ago. It's great - beats and rhymes are breezy, vibe is just smooth. I need to check the Kamaal the Abstract album next. Great album. Personal classic.
