The interlude sounds dope! If that was an interlude not sure if he throws beats down or not.

I want to get into his music but I just fkn cannot.
He got the worst voice of all time as far as rappers go. There is none.
He’s like the DOC.
And like 75% of the beats got no drums.
I’d rather read a book by this dude. He likes to write cool little riddles about being poor and selling drugs and being a man of honor.

NOBODY in real life plays this s**t for real out loud.
A small group plays this in their favorite earbuds.

He ain’t kicking THAT much knowledge. I get why people who don't like his music don't like it. But I happen to think he's the best writer in the game currently. There are a lot of intricacies in his lyrics. He rarely wastes a bar.

Scene: NWS (played by Tom Hanks) and a bunch of ughhies are called into a meeting to listen to the new Ka album, The Thief Next To Jesus. Album finishes...
Seriously, what is going on with that first single. I turned it off at the 1:25 mark. Just another "no drums with an overbearing looped sample that plays louder than the actual lyrics". No thanks.
To quote Big, "I don't get it".

I can imagine Buck puking at the opening to that review shared above
"Ka’s The Thief Next to Jesus is a profound exploration of faith, morality, and survival, displaying the Brooklyn emcee’s unmatched ability to turn life’s complexities into poetic verses."
I really like Ka but completely agree with some points. I've never listened to his music in my car, checked this new one on my earbuds earlier whilst walking in the rain. Ideal Ka miserable surroundings.
The first time I heard him was on GZA's album. His rhyme scheme reminded me of Smoothe Da Hustler and I was excited to hear more, wish he rapped on hard drums more but do appreciate his sound.

His early work is particularly boring, I have tried Grief Pedigree and The Night's Gambit multiple times and they put me to sleep.
Orpheus vs. the Sirens, however, is really good, mostly due to Animoss' lush soundscape. He makes references to ancient history often, so if you aren't up on your Greek mythology, a lot of his stuff may seem strange. I think his rhymes are really good and take thoughtful listening, but sometimes he is too obscure for me.
And if you are a percussion heavy type of hip hop listener, then yeah his music probably sucks. I like sample-driven beats, so some of his stuff is golden, like this song for instance -
"You know my stock was only good as my ingredients/ the system only leaned on us, never showed us lenience." That's fantastic wordplay and rhyming.

Even his name is wack. I’m sure there’s a special story attached to it regarding how saved a (K)id from (A)rson or whatever but it’s still reads KA like toddler sht. Is it Caa? Like caca? Or the letters K and A?
It’s just goofy. Homeboy seems scared to be himself. Whisper rap, no drums, a firefighter that doesn’t talk about fire.
this is the one joint from him I really fux wit:

Dude's real name is Kaseem. Ka is just his nickname, no special meaning. Lol @ being afraid to be himself when the guy literally raps using his name.

Ka just announced his next album, can't wait! KA - The Pyromaniac Next To Putin (2024) This will be a somber album rooted in Russian samples where the Brooklyn rapper examines the relationship between Black Americans and setting fires, while seeking a new framework for his own feline tree prevention process.
