imo, chopped herring, dope folks and other labels that are specialized in unearthing 90s hip hop demos are kinda boring right now. still waiting for someone to release the artifacts and s.t.p. demos (the guy from splice of spice announced to press the latter on vinyl soon), but my interest in stuff like this definitely ceased. most releases sound kinda mediocre, and you can hear why the music has been irrelevant back then.
if it wasn't for the cd compilations and very few pressings of new stuff, chopped herring could close its doors, and i wouldn't feel bad.
what do you guys think about it?

I think you're trippin. Chopped Herring released a lot of dope s**t this year. Dope Folks too. Don't get me wrong, this year wasn't as good as other years, but you can't expect every release and every year to be the illest ever. I do however think 2017 will be better and there's gonna be some surprises as far as limited vinyl releases. Stay tuned...
