I don’t like the trap beats and flows on this. It was ok on 30 but I didn’t want a whole album of that sht. Especially Magic 2.
I’m really feeling Pistols On You Album Cover and What This All Really Means. Motion and Slow It Down are cool.
50’s verse was wack but Nas saved it.
Bokeem Woodbine is borderline.
Rest ain’t for me.

I agree with pitch fork (judging off the ratings) life is good is Nas’s last good album

Magis is waaay better; and I don't say that n.2 is not good. It's same thing with KD albums; 3 is a little beter tnan 1&2 in my opinion. But Magic is classic Nas album for me

6.5/10
I've listened to this album two times. Anything from N@s I'll take, especially in a time where mumbles/trap/hood women run the business. I will listen to it more, maybe it will grow on me?
With that said, its an average album. The production on this album is not very inspired and rather monotonous. Magic 1 far surpases this album, lyrically, cohesiveness, beats etc.
My main problem with this album is, for me at least, there isn't a single breakout record on this. The best track is one where i don't want to press next but not enough for me to want to hit rewind or add to a playlist.
The 50 song was a huge letdown. 50's verse was weak sauce and i was expecting much more from this collab. Hit boy and Nas came short with this one. They've done a lot and i will never complain with what they gave us with previous albums.
Maybe its time to take a break for th eboth of them. Id rather a Magic 1 album every 2-3 years than a Magic 2 every 8 months/year or so.

after several spins, I'm agreeing with pretty much all that ^^
i wasn't really let down by 50, didn't really expect anything from him..
playing through it i would think "well it's better than most of the mainstream s**t" but it still kinda sounds like it...not something I see myself going back to much. if i had to rank his albums this would be in the lower half

People in here are dancing around calling this album wack even though they’re using other ways to describe how wack it is I can't be more transparent than what I posted. If I thought it was"wack" I'd just say it. I think anyone in here would.

The issue is it’s not really wack. It’s kinda fire.
It’s that half of it isn’t the normal Nas sound. Fans of Nas are almost 100% anti trap music. This album got Nas doing what’s poppin a lot more than the last 4 of his albums. But even THAT is better than anything being called hip hop in today’s mainstream.
A lot of fans have gotten greedy with the output and with the first Magic album. That album, however you want to rank it, is at the top of his discography. And Nas had a HUGE discography.
He named it Magic 2 and people figured it was gonna be a follow up to the last one where he was just blacking out on every song
Magic 2 has those moments. But the problem is, he got a taste of that streaming base of younger fans who ran the numbers up on Spicy and 30 and said “Fk it. Now im touching a younger audience with this sht” and now you got Magic 2.
It was a rare misstep in this Nas X Hit run but I ain’t mad. Half this album or more is fire and I can’t say that about most rappers. Call it wack I won’t argue. My least favorite outta the 5.

KD1 wasn’t it for me. I talked a lot of sht on Hitboy when that album dropped. I liked the beats on Bennys album more and felt Nas should have got that pack.
KD2 I felt they figured it out. That had some real heat and Nas was dialed in
Magic was basically a flawless album. I just wish they included the song Big Nas on it. That album was so concentrated and Nas did what all his day one fans wanted. Just flawless rapping over breaks.
KD3 was a step down from Magic but better than KD 1 and 2. It’s at this point that average rap fans have to pay attention.
Magic 2 got Nas wanting to please everybody.
