Is it the red & black Nord stage? You can spill the tea, I wont tell... Wooden blocks as bass traps tho, that work? Well renting a keyboard that I'm not telling anyone about. Only my girl knows. I worked too hard going through modern keyboards to find ones with dope sounds. "Casio" sounds and samples is areal thing in production - and it's scary as hell! The wooden blocks aren't bass traps. They do have foam on top though. I have a rhyme from Screaming Buildings in 2014 that goes "You don't get daps you get slapped smacked and duffle bagged/ muffle ragged...then used as a corner trap" 😱 |

Peace Crump, good to see youre working on new music! You do know were all hobby musicians right? I have zero products out in my name, views as low as in the hundreds (in my name), and financially Ive sustained the lifestyle of an amateur musician with a few days worth of smoothies, pizza sandwiches and a pack of smokes centered around every gig/jam (cant really call em concerts). Cool. My achievements out my lab are collaborating with Kool Keith and other greats, over 400,000 views on YouTube and worldstar from my original hip hop, being in 2 physical copies of Vice magazine etc. I want my next album Nightmare Fuel to get over 50,000 views in the first three months of release. I don’t see why you’re not banned yet from ya countless self promotions in every thread . Mods need to do something |

I know two Hip Hop artists personally that make a dope living off of their "Studio work".
In the tune of $50,000 a year - for several years now.
And they both release CDs, digital, vinyl and merch.
It's when products fly out of labs that make things get really interesting. AND inspiring.

A 2014 Mac mini (mid grade model) - runs like there’s molasses in the processor Logic X Pro Some cheap a** condenser mic from Amazon JBL studio monitors of some sort (too lazy to look at the exact model) Been thinking about switching over to producing on my gaming rig (Aurora 11, i9, nVidia 3090) but I just can’t let go of Logic. I’d switch to Ableton if I did. Music hobby has taken a back seat to photography (Sony a7iii) and modding my 2020 RAV4 XLE Premium for adventures. Lol Lolol I know bout them processors fighting for they life, and still pushing them 😉 Some yrs back, my budget onboard soundcard decided to pan bout 20% to the left, and its been that way ever since! I fcourse corrected on my default DAW master output, which I ALWAYS forget BEFORE bouncing due stems and 2tracks *MASSIVE sigh* Thats dope you into photography, theres waaay to many parallels between this and that, makes perfect sense |

My 9 yr old startin to ask when can we make beats again dad, gotta run w it, build a lil makeshift studio in a corner somewhere
A nice corner desk, a fresh laptop, FINALLY have the sense to invest in a dedicated soundcard and better headphones, the small Yamaha monitors. Have the MPK/MPDs lined up too...

I'm glad to hear that you're making music on a budget! Your setup sounds great for what you're doing. Sometimes all you need is a laptop and some headphones to get started. Renoise is a cool DAW, I've heard a lot of people talk about it. And it's awesome that you're using Audition for mastering - it's a powerful tool for getting that final polish on your tracks.
