^this is the debut album (i think?) by paul barman protege, celestaphone who produced "a year of octobers" album for pb in the last few years (check here for those who missed - mcpb.bandcamp.com/album/a-year-of-octobers )
features on the new album include armand hammer, paul barman, defcee, & rap ferreira (wow i hate spelling that, ima just say milo still)
"paper cut fron the obit" is a very funky album with a lot of live instrumental bumpin beat vibes
if i could describe celestaphone on the mic i would say he is a mix of paul barman and anderson paak (not singing) with a hint of bizzy bone. kinda an interesting character who i think some of you would enjoy. especially those who like beats w drums still.
he was on my radar, but i lost track of keeping up on his albums after his first one. im a fan of tzarizm and imakemadbeats so thats how i discovered midaz. i know how dope he is and should give some of his albums a shot. i sleep on ransom too.
best project to start on with midaz or which one is your fav??
My favorite project of his is probably Where the Sidewalk Ends but his earlier stuff might have more boom bap appeal. AU: Another Universe might be a good place to start. As for Ransom, a lot of people slept on his Greatest Rapper Alive album in 2017. That's where I really started paying attention again. All of his stuff with Nicholas Craven and V Don is great too.
