So I had a good weekend bumping a bunch of music. some new. some old. made some. bought a new washer, etc.
I got to peep "kill em all" by muggs and mach, him lo's latest album (prince akiem jewels), the sadistik album that dropped earlier this year (haunted gardens), and sixo's last album before his passing (the odds of free will)
my favorites so far being the him lo and the sadistik. the kill em all was a little underwhelming and comes off as more of an extra's from tlt ala frozen angels ep but iiwii. not bad just not worth $30 bucks.
the sixo's pretty good but i need to listen to it more. i've been really digging his albums lately after hearing his name mentioned on the sad fat luck album by ceschi and factor. tracking perception ep and free floating rationales are both solid releases.
also been bumpin a lot of hall and oates and genesis
what ya'll been bumping lately?

Going pretty hard with david bowie, tbh.
Made a comp, mostly of ziggy stardust tracks, plus a few tracks from his earlier albums. Going to dive into aladin sane soon, and add to the comp.

Listened to elvis a lot today. The phase when he returned from the war: 1960-63. Some quality stuff. Soldier boy is a hella dope track.

Halfway through that new Vic Spencer. Pretty disappointing. The best selection is pretty bad. The horns on 7 feet deep are so loud you can’t hear most of the samples. Pretty poor for an official debut album

thats crazy. he always kills his features.
so i wanted to say again how awesome the new sadistik album is. you were right tippi, he's back on track after the mediocre altars
im bout to play some mike and mechanics.
gonna bump "tails of lobsterdamus" cd on my lunch break which just came in the mail yesterday - one of my other favorite rap releases of the year. dillon produced and rapped his a** off on there (in a real fun way)

i was disappointed with that new vic spencer too, beats on a lot of his recent projects have been inconsistent aside from the project with tree. duffle of gems is still his best album to me.
eseph - i told you man, it's a huge step up from altars. i was genuinely surprised, especially since i haven't heard of most of those producers before. i like every single track on there compared to altars which had maybe 3 or 4 i'd ever want to go back to. haunted gardens seemed a lot more sincere & natural to me. eden is one of the best songs i've heard all year.
mostly been listening to a lot of beat tapes + the new little brother, big kahuna og, blu & damu, and i've been going back to theravadas stuff recently waiting for xennis rodman to drop.

Listened to a few more albums today
Little Brother- Very solid as expected. Dope album Flee Lord and 38 Spesh- I liked this. Short but consistent throughout. Grafh has a feature on this (I missed him) Dr. Ooop & The BlackLoveR88rs- Pretty much trash. 2 tracks i'll keep

Nws, have you watched the interview gibbs and madlib did with rosenberg? Its real weird when gibbs starts crying and s**t, fully catches Rosenberg off guard. And the way he talks about madlib you would swear dude is gay or somethin..

And the way he talks about madlib you would swear dude is gay or somethin.. I have not. I'll see if I can check it out. I'm not sure how a man who knocked up Eric d**kerson's daughter, married her, and then got divorced because he was facing rape charges in Europe, could possibly be gay.

Willie the kid- pearls Pretty dope album. Definitely tapered off towards the end but 80% of this album was good
Chris Rivers- GITU Half good half bad. He can definitely rhyme. The beats he jumps are are what hurts him though. There are some cool tracks on this album though

I was fortunate to get carta p & parental "a beautiful mess" early ... wasn't too impressed by their earlier releases, but it's a solid album ... listening to the "too many" rmx w/ breeze brewin right now - dope track!
