This is a classic example of a proficient rapper spending too long with beatless types such as Al Divino and Nack and so forth.
Listen to Starker on the first video, his flow and voice are dope, then his new style further below. It tries too hard.

i like dumbing out to his rapid fire terror squad bars! he's like big pun flo with prospects voice and i've just been a big fan of this dude the last few years. never heard the divino stuff though or a lot of his solo projects yet. mostly bump the stuff w yl and rrr. the rrr album was real good end of the year album last year! zoomo just makes great beats! rrrmusicgroup.bandcamp.com/album/rrr-the-albumi do like yl better but the contrast in their styles is dope

Starker is definitely nice but I agree, I prefer the more traditional style to the rapid fire.. it's more succinct and effective to me. Definitely hear Divino and Nack go that route more often too. There are a few artists taking that approach, primarily on drumless tracks.. Ankhlejohn, Crimeapple, Jah Monte Ogbond, etc. I like all of their more straightforward flows. There's a way to rhyme superfast and remain in pocket that's more palatable to me than this particular style.

But you can't do the same songs forever either right.
