Not sure how this will go, haha. 50 had a lot of very mainstream leaning tracks, and was probably the last superstar rapper whose shtick was being a quote-unquote real life gangster/criminal.
But the guy had some heat. For example, he was past his moment in the limelight by the time his fourth album dropped, but Death To My Enemies was I think one of his best tracks. Dre hooked him up there.
And Hate It Or Love It is undeniable, don't front, guys.

GRODT also had some serious things on it, Heat is a f**king Dre banger if I ever heard one.

Yeah, the shotgun percussion on Heat is flames. Dre got really bad in the late 00s for going too far down the handclap snares rabbithole, it became way too polished sounding, but his percussion choices in the late 90s/early 00s were inspired. Thinking songs like Xplosive, Heat, and Obie Trice's The Setup when talking here.

I Get Money fckin slaps. I tolerate 50 because I'm a Banks stan. And as far as G Unit as a whole, I felt Terminate On Sight had a lot of tight, grimey tracks and was overlooked.

I never checkdd that album out. A few Self Destruct tracks aside, I stopped paying attention after the whole Graduation/Curtis fiasco that forever killed mainstream gangster rap. I should give it a listen.

It's too bad his non-studio projects aren't on Spotify. Wasn't surprised the tapes weren't on there, but I was surprised that Guess Who's Back project wasn't on there. At least, I think that's what it was called, the one where he's out of focus, holding the gun near the camera, and the gun's in focus.

Never listened to his music. I heard In Da Club many times out in public and some other toy f**kin song. Seems to make trash so never checked for him.

I was a fan from the beginning like any underground hip hop fan at the time.
All the mixtapes, all the hood DVDs, all the drama. He couldn’t be stopped. He just took his spot and I loved every minute of it.
I never seen a buzz for a hip hop artist as crazy as 50 since Snoop before Doggystyle.

No one had the decency to call me a commercial loving f****t for making this thread. Why even make a thread like this, if it's not going to get the recognition it deserves? Ughh truly is dead.
