My kitchen smells like truffles. GF pops in, tellin me it really reeks of catpiss. Understandable.
It is what it is.
I light a cig, and reminisce on past times and pastimes...
I pull a recent memory from my foggy mind. Its another derailed thread. I think the point was something about healthy choices and the investments herein...
A picture of a brand spanking new matress.
Wasnt there a commercial w Suga Free in a BB&B-type store or is my imagination running wild? I want it to be true.
Someone in GD country was talking bout "I told yall to buy BB&B stock" at some point. Recently.
Recently Ive been loosin sleep. It all ties back to the matress. Or a lack of vitamins. Or both.
Tomorrow I will buy fresh fruit. Make smoothies for the whole family.
Come payday I will make arrangements to travel to IKEA.
The objective is clear.

He should only be able to post under this thread only as his other insights ultimately circle back to his own self promotion.

Catatonia is a medical condition characterized by immobility and unresponsiveness so is Cataphonic the sound of immobility & unresponsiveness & if so is it a good name for a record label?

ADMIRAL CRUMPLE - DARK SENTENCES, album review by pigeonmike
From jump, were assured everything is gonn be fine, but the sinister tone of the following vox clips tells another story. Im reminded of my early teens, bumpin Liquid Swords for the first time in someones attic...
Cctv is 1st up. Beat sounding like that scene in big budget suspense flix, rain pouring, killers identity dawns on the hero. Now w added drums and synth strings. Lyrically, were dealin w a cautionary tale. Anecdotes of run-ins w different types of working class people, advice on pocketing money, monitor everything from your phone but that wont stop evil, dont do drugs, etc.. Solid track.
Back At It is the energetic introduction, the REAL jumpoff. I think. Chorus is a tried and tested formula, which always works, alternating between (muddy) scratching and Crump doin his thing. It even has a bitcrushed SF adlib. Beat is cool w its vintage horrormovielike quality - think Moonlight Sonata w drums.
On Ancient Scrolls AC reflects on his own journey, kicking bad habits but still being a work in progress... inspiring, realistic stuff. At some point near the end, Crump meets a girl smoking a cig and concludes she is a slut. He uses her and justifies it by stating that she is responsible for her own actions. Beat is dope, dark melodic piano sprinkled w aforementioned synth strings.
Hot Chick is next up. Its almost reads like a Tinder bio, the ones w dos & donts rather than a description of self. Backed by a pop rock ballad sample w fast paced drums. I hate pop rock ballads.
Keeps Flowing is a gruesome tale. Whilst walking the streets of Tronto, he witnesses a girl bein thrown from a balcony, and in the next breath they are both kidnapped by unknown assaillants. He wakes up and the girl is spiritually suspended between life and death next to him. Or just dead. Negativity DOES keep flowing. Beat is cool and serves its purpose, with its breakish drums, underplayed strings and piano that resembles the Halloween score...
The beat to Visionaries is dense and dark, think Daringer drummin it up while playin lategame Castlevania boss levels, angelic choir bein the cherry on top. Lyrically we are bordering fantasy as AC explores both bein underground and Grammy fammy established, bound by a chorus about bein visionary, balancing grime and class.
Next comes King Crypto - a tale of a selfproclaimed royale that rises from the streets, and gets what he wants out of life thru sheer determination and hard work. Random evil people gets popped, desperate methheads stabbed in the process. The chorus has the "pu-pu-PU-PUMP IT UP" voice sample in it for some reason, and it abrubtly cuts thru the church organ that carries the beat.
Haunted tells a(nother) story of a tortured soul, who grows to take more responsibility and better care of him self. Then he bags a girl on birth control in an airport I think. The beat sounds haunted.
The album ends w City Life - a banger w Halloweenish piano over hard drums, intro sprinkled w a Pennywise drop. Verse starts w "Ayo Im from the block, hustling a lot, its our responsibility to...". At this point my Bluettooth headphones died on me, so further analysis of this joint is deaded for now, as Im not about to charge 'em for half-a-joint. I will say it started out VERY promising tho.
ALL in ALL, Dark Sentences was def worth its runtime to me. The consistency/repetitiveness of the themes, both in beat and raps, shows deep appreciation for and dedication to the horrorcore universe. The constant references to ACs "real" life status and future goals, displays knowledge of self and a positive outlook as a direct contrast to the darkness that oozes out of every track. A delightful play on the dualistic nature of man.
The true strength of this album lies in the beats tho. The mixes are all rather solid, oftentimes soundin rich in texture, w only a few layers of piano and strings. Drums are chunky AND snappy, and bangs thruout the whole project. Only gripe is some snares gets downplayed, but Im also a fan of older 9th snares soo...
The true weakness is the vocal production and ability. Its evident complex flows are last priority/out of reach to Crump, and oftentimes he goes offbeat, fastpacing thru sentences. Adlibs and dubs are generally sloppy, volume off etc..
Id give this one 6 mangos out of how-many-it-takes-to-make-your-fav-drink. Salute!

I see what you're saying. Check this. To be Catatonic it's like your mind is alive but your body is dead. Mine is not, so I'm committed to living life to the fullest! I named my record label partly over that term, cause it's crazy. But also this back in 2002. Cata - the root word of catalog - means complete. Phonic - deals with audio and sound. So it's "Completely Sound Productions" essentially. Is it a good name for a record label? I thought so. Could be wrong, but I like it.

Catatonia is a medical condition characterized by immobility and unresponsiveness so is Cataphonic the sound of immobility & unresponsiveness & if so is it a good name for a record label? Cata - the root word of catalog - means complete. Phonic - deals with audio and sound. So it's "Completely Sound Productions" essentially. Is it a good name for a record label? I thought so. Could be wrong, but I like it. Thanks for your response, i understand your thought process now
