On the first couple spins I would have to say underwhelming. Very somber and downtempo. That was to be expected, but would have preferred some more thump to the beats. Quantum Leap is a more quick-paced jazzy joint that I really like. Zip Guns is a banger and Knowledge the Pirate comes in really dope, I like how he sounds over the beat more than Roc. The rest is way more chill, more of a moody late night album.

Finally got to hear this sht.
It’s a masterpiece and I’m not over hyping it.
For any day one Roc Marci fans out there…. don’t worry. This is what you waited for.
This a return to form.
For me his best albums were Marcburg, Reloaded and Rosebudd’s Revenge. Everything else was dope but kinda lazy and not on the level of those 3 albums.
Roc is at his absolute sharpest and ALC gives you the drums.
But they wanna fk with you a lil and make you stretch a lil bit as a listener. That’s what he’s always done as an artist. It’s not spoonfuls of weirdo music on this tho. There’s a ton of bangers on this sht.
If you been a fan this is what you been looking for.
Solid contender for AOTY right next to Pusha.

Was half expecting to be disappointed with this. Roc has been a bit lazy on the mic for me and Alc, while being an absolute GOAT, is dropping a bunch of stuff here and there that is less up my alley than some of his other material. But i absolutely love this! Love all the samples/melodies/vibes, and it's a nice mix of drumless and drums, and the whole thing flows and fits together perfectly. Although i do agree some drums could have a bit more oompf to it |
