Just want to reassure everyone that this new album from Chance that dropped last week is one of the worst pieces of music I've ever heard.
There were only 2 songs out of the 17 that I listened to past the first 30 seconds.

Ha, and I got a friend that keeps trying to get me to listen to it like it's the best s**t ever. consider getting new friends lol. i don't even hate chance or anything, acid rap was cool & coloring book was good for what it was. this new album though.. just straight up corny and sterile, with some genuinely awful writing. it's just 22 tracks of him talking about great his life is and how he's married now. this man said: "I'm 'bout to book a show at the Dimmsdale Dimmadome I still could hit up Sony today and get a loan And shout out to Miss Sylvia Rhone, we get along But that boy advance gotta be bigger than Diddy Kong I need stock and it gotta be Pippi Long Can't stop‚ won't stop boppin' like Diddy's song My next tour, it got eight legs like daddy long I'm 'bout to have two kids that like daddy's song"  |

I'm a HUGE fan of chance, and even I think it's god awful, haha.
He sold out on this one. Different sounding production. Working with bigger names just for the sake of it, and it doesn't work, even though chance kind of specialized in making unexpected guest turns work on surf and coloring book. And, as tippi, pointed out, he seems far less inspired in the writing, which is a surprise, considering the stakes involved with this project.
I'm so out of the loop, are chance stans eating this up? What's the general consensus on this in mainstream hip hop. Not underground. My hope is people are disappointed which will convince chance to go back to doing what got him here. My worry is they're loving it, which will encourage him to keep this up, and thereby spoil his whole career.
He's gotten a lot of comparison to wyclef jean, in good ways. Unfortunarely, the similarities are starting to be bad ones (ie disappointing results after he reaches a certain height, missed potential, etc.)
