This album is ridiculous…wow. Best new album I’ve heard in a long time. “The Darkest Part” ft Raekwon is crazyyyyy. If anything tops this as album of the year for me personally I’ll be very surprised.

Danger mouse proving again why he's a super producer. Too bad he doesn't do hip hop more often.

One listen, so take it with a grain of salt, but this is crazy good. I’ve listened to it all the way through 3x at this point. It really is crazy good. I had the opportunity to paint live for Black Thought’s daughter’s bday party a while ago and he was telling me all about the up-coming projects. So I’ve been super excited for this for a while and it over delivered for me.

Good album. The track with Doom was excellent. Love the beats, lots of variety and switch ups. I wasn't even really concentrating on the lyrics but there were some standout bars. Will see how it holds up through more spins but this is sounding like a 9/10 album.

Played this driving back from the beach this morning a lil fkd up.
Couldn’t really focus but there was some heat on this for real.
Couple beats sounded too organic like pots and pans being bonged on. I was not feeling those at all before my coffee and Advil.

Not feeling these beats . Black Thought still has yet to drop a dope solo album and no way this is AOTY.

I think that the beats are excellent. The only one I wasn't super feeling on first listen was the beat for "Strangers". It's more of an El-P beat than a Black Thought beat. But I got used to it after hearing it a few times. Still my least favorite beat on the album though. The production on "The Darkest Part", "Aquamarine", “No Gold Teeth” & “Belize” is great IMO

I love every beat, but the opening track. It might grow on me.
Haven't listened to asap rocky in a bit. Forgot how good he is.

It isn’t bad…and I don’t feel the need to skip it. It’s just kind of an odd beat to open with. But I love every other beat…and the “Strangers” beat is growing on me the more I hear it.

What would be your pick off this album to set it all off?

I listened to the album twice already and all I can say is that this album feels weird. I'll explain why:
Danger Mouse is original & one of the greatest producers and Black Thought it's one of the best mc's. One created good beats (as usual) and the other rapped well (as usual) but I don't think their styles fit very well.
I probably think thatt way because I'm very used to listening Black Thought with certain type of beats that are nothing like the ones from Dangermouse. However there were several songs where I thought "this beat was birthed for a rapper like MF DOOM". It's a very strange feeling to listen to an album and constantly think "this other rapper would make this beat much more better"

I thought that it felt way more like an El-P/Run The Jewels beat than a Black Thought beat and that threw me off at first too. I've gotten used to it since then. But that was the only one. I thought that "Aquamarine", "No Gold Teeth" and "The Darkest Part" for example suited Black Thought perfectly. Especially "Aquamarine". I think the issue that you're having is that some of the stuff is way different than Black Thought's usual sound. I've had albums like that...but they grew on me after I got used to the sound.

What would be your pick off this album to set it all off? If Sometimes doesn't grow on me, and I decide to cut it from my version, I'll probably move No Gold Teeth to the front, and move Cheat Codes to after Because. Meaning the tracklist would be NGT, The Darkest Part, Because, Cheat Codes, Belize, etc. NGT and Cheat Codes are too similar to be close to each other.

I really like the thing DM does between the verses on Strangers with the woman's voice.

Yeah I think No Gold Teeth should have been the first track on this album as well. Way better opener.

I agree with most of what was written and besides this year is quite a 'weak' year so far and that's why this album maybe seems to be quite good...

s**t is dope. I'm hoping to come back to it more that I did the Streams of Thought volumes but I'm not sure I will. A couple of tracks are really good tho. Stand out more than anything on those projects did.
