car rotation been pretty steady with these releases. vinnie paz - as above so below (aoty so far this year. his best rhymes and most complete album in years. sounds hungry again. great production and guests) serengeti and k rec. - to the max (super chill album. weird raps from geti and great beats to boot. you were right tippi, this was worth a look. reasonably priced cd's still available at audio recon) es-1 - the cell (great album by one of ughh's own lol you all need to check this as the music itself contains a cure for this virus that's been going around. free your mind from the cell and the rest will follow. plus production and features from paten locke, alaska of hangar 18, pastense, & blake9, cmon son! you know time it is... www.es1driven.bandcamp.com/album/the-cell |

also been bumping jay elect and jay z album steadily
the new deep breez vinyl that just dropped and the power cosmic tape they just dropped. both are worth a look
self medicated by dillon & batsauce. great ep that dropped on wax worth copping.
been goin hard with the wax release of tosh by curly castro as well!
also just got the wax in the mail for the new shrapknel (curly castro + prem rock) album so i got to peep that hopefully tonight.

Didn't like this. Been trying to listen to some new s**t, Illmind is a very accomplished producer, but I've come to realize that his sound just isn't for me. He tends to go for more soulful/R&Bish s**t - although he is versatile and occasionally comes through with a smasher that I really enjoy. Cardiac off Jesus Price Supastar comes to mind. I am not that familiar with Symbolic One, I had heard of Strange Fruit Project but never heard him before. The rapping on this album is pretty good, lots of features. Beats aren't good though.
Listening to this now...more my steez. Hazy blunted beats. Never heard this dude before, saw him posted in another thread so thought I'd give it a shot. Reminds me of the Madlib Movie Scenes album. I recognize some of these samples.

The second album I was talking about in my last post was Graymatter- Danger Room Instrumentals. Link broke. I just discovered this WKCR freestyle session. That DJ Spinna beat is so dope, I've never heard it before. Cool to hear them all rocking over it. Homeboy Sandman kills it. I'm gonna have to check some of his music.
